THIS is how to do it. Get tough without getting dirty. McCain has transcended the usual election year spin and distortion tactics we have all become so unhappily accustomed to . His campaign has committed itself whole hog to a strategy that is deceitful, condescending and unfortunately quite often successful. Its also unusual to see a campaign engage in these tactics directly rather than allowing surrogates to perform the dirty knife fighting from a safe distance.
